One of the most popular collecting coins, many older silver dollars exist in uncirculated condition today due to hoarding and usage as bullion during their production. There are numerous breaks in production of the Silver Dollar, most notably around the Great Depression. Since 1971 there have been several different non-silver dollar coins produced.
